The Past & Futures Forum: Southland 2020 today

Take part in creating a future for Southland that is exciting and positive.
On October 20 the Southland Past and Futures Forum will be held.
The forum is part of the Southland Sesquicentennial Celebrations and will be a chance to participate in planning for the province’s future.
It is being organised by the combined Rotary clubs of Invercargill after Invercargill Mayor Tim Shadbolt asked for their assistance. Southern Institute of Technology is also playing a part in the forum, providing sponsorship, venue and staff support.
Top Australasian demographer Bernard Salt will be the keynote speaker, with award-winning business journalist Rod Oram, entrepreneur Wayne Brown, change management expert Christine Rankin and Maori leader Sir Tipene O’Regan also providing their view of Southland’s future.
The Southland public’s opinion on how a successful future for the region can be created is essential and the forum will also include focus groups where everyone takes part in discussion and debate.
The forum, at Hansen Hall, the Southern Institute of Technology, is free, with a $20 charge for lunch. Numbers are limited to 300 so please register by contacting Judy Fleck on (03) 2182599 ext 782 or emailing judy.fleck@sit.ac.nz
